MUTUAL SELF RELIANCE
Available to everyone
Family Group Conferencing is about mutual self reliance and the right of citizens to remain in control of their own lives, even in times of trouble when official institutions are playing an important part. This philosophy should become the starting point in help and welfare, available to everyone. During the congress, professionals from social care, research, and politics and citizens from all over Europe will share their visions, experiences, and developments in this area.
MAKING A PLAN
When there is a threat of governmental intervention
In the Netherlands, in March 2011, an important mile stone was reached: de Tweede Kamer (the Dutch Parliament) accepted a law proposal that gives citizens the right to construe a plan when official intervention is imminent before intervention actually takes place. In other European countries, similar developments take place.
VARIED PROGRAM
Everyone can participate
The congress offers a varied and inspiring program with workshops, presentations of papers, films, round table discussions, open space technology and interactive theatre. Everyone who is interested in Family Group Conferencing – be it personal or professional - can participate.
